Courtney Williams, LCADC Intern
Hi, I’m Courtney Williams, LSW, LCADC Intern and work with adults, young adults, and adolescents whose lives have been affected by substance use. If you have been impacted by an unhealthy relationship with drug, alcohol in your life, or the life of a loved one, I can help. Working with me can help you slow down, find clarity, and strengthen your coping skills. You can develop healthier boundaries with yourself and others.
You’ll find my office to be a warm and welcoming space free of judgement or stigma of any kind, allowing you to open up and work collaboratively with me to find relief in your life. I can help you to develop insight and practical no-nonsense approaches to confidently navigating your life challenges and difficult relationships.
I also often support individuals struggling to navigate life transitions, working with young adults seeking to establish independence and manage anxiety, as well as adults learning to change their roles in relationships as spouses and parents. In a fast paced, and sometimes unforgiving digital world filled with social media and instant feedback, I help adolescents meet the challenges of feeling pressured and emotionally overloaded as they try to figure out how to manage their life.
My training includes an MSW from Columbia University, with advanced clinical training in health, mental health, and disabilities. My approach is trauma-informed, and has been developed through both my education and my work in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization health care contexts. I am constantly seeking new ways to help my clients, and am currently training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to learn ways to help my clients process trauma and reduce its daily emotional toll
I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and therapy should feel supportive, respectful, and empowering. Whether you are seeking recovery, support as a family member, guidance through a life transition, or healthier ways to cope with stress and emotional pain, I strive to create a space where meaningful and lasting change can occur.
